The poultry red mite (Dermanyssus gallinae) infestation represents a major problem in the poultry industry; the economic and animal health impact is important, and farmers need adequate therapeutic measures to control this parasite. The most common form to control poultry red mites infestation worldwide is the use of various synthetic contact acaricides, which although effective, their repeated use leads often to the development of resistance and further, the residues in eggs and meat are a highly important problem for human health. The use of medicinal plants is currently seen as an alternative transition from empirical to scientific phytotherapy and bioactive chemicals from plants present a remarkable economic potential resource with broad possibilities for development and implementation.

Recommendation

150 ml per 1000 litres of drinking water for 1 week.
Repeat the same dose after a gap of 1 week until the desired results are achieved.
